VOTING EARLY/ABSENTEE FOR THE

FEBRUARY 16, 2021 ELECTION

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot.  A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election.  The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot.  Proof of photo identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.
 
You must make a request for an absentee ballot in writing.
Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the primary or election or both.  You may also submit a written request in the form of a letter.  Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature.  You may make application for an absentee ballot by mail, email, online, or in person.
 
MAKING APPLICATION TO RECEIVE AN ABSENTEE BALLOT BY MAIL
The deadline for making application to receive an absentee by mail is 5pm on Thursday, February 11, 2021.

Note: Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror.  If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.
 
RETURN ABSENTEE BALLOT IN-PERSON AND IN LOCKBOX
If you do not wish to return your absentee ballot by mail feel free to drop it off in-person during the Clerk’s office hours in the lockbox. The silver lockbox in front of the Village Hall is a secure drop box that is checked throughout the day every day. All absentee ballots must be received by 8:00 p.m. on Election Night.
 
VOTING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT IN PERSON
You may also request and vote an absentee ballot in the clerk's office or other specified location during the days and hours specified for casting an absentee ballot in person.
 
The first day to vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office is:
     Tuesday, February 2, 2021 call 920-682-7410 or email villageoffranciscreek@yahoo.com to set an    
     Appointment to meet at the Village Hall, 200 Norwood Dr, Francis Creek, WI 54214
The last day to vote an absentee ballot in the clerk's office with an appointment is:
     Friday, February 12, 2021 last appointment will be scheduled no later than 5:00 P.M.
 
No in-person absentee voting may occur on the day before the election.
 
Requesting an absentee ballot through myvote.wi.gov
Registered voters may request an absentee ballot by visiting myvote.wi.gov and clicking on “Vote Absentee”. Follow the prompts given and your request will be emailed to your municipal clerk.
 
The municipal clerk will deliver voted ballots returned on or before Election Day to the polling place before the polls close on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.  Any ballots received after the polls close will not be counted.

*If you are in line at 8PM, you will be allowed to vote. Anyone in line after 8PM will not be allowed to vote.
